Our Mention
The Garlic Farm is proud to be named as one of only four Isle of Wight establishments listed in the 2020 edition of The Good Food Guide. Scored as a 'Local Gem', this category is described as including "the best neighbourhood eateries in the country". The entry for The Garlic Farm Restaurant goes on to say that, "pungent aromas permeate everything from the breakfast sausages and meze platters to the profiteroles and ice cream". Although it also points out that there's plenty of options for those who like just a hint of garlic with their meal, rather than the full flavour experience. Passionate alliophiles can, of course, enjoy garlic in everything from a fondue starter or whole roasted bulb to garlic bread, halloumi fries, and a black garlic ice-cream sundae, washed down with some garlic-infused beer. As regular visitors will know, the shop adjacent to our restaurant also offers a wealth of garlic goodies for diners to take their favourite flavour home with them in the form of bulbs, chutneys, or even garlic seed to grow.
Keeping it Local
Along with Thompson's, The Little Gloster, and The Seaview Hotel, The Garlic Farm Restaurant is delighted to feature in the guide, which is a tribute to the many outstanding food producers who put the Isle of Wight firmly on Britain's food map. Although we grow our own garlic, we source the majority of vegetables, meat and cheese that features on our menu from island farms. Look out for produce from The Tomato Stall, IOW Cheese Co., Living Larder, Briddlesford Farm Dairy, Island Foods meat, Idlecombe Farm, Oil of Wight, Minghella, Wight Salt, Beau's - and naturally our very own range of chutneys, pickles, mayonnaise and dressings!
